St. Patrick’s Day: This year we will be praying for family members who are living abroad. Please take a card with you as you leave and write the names of those who have left home and place them in the box marked St. Patrick’s Day.
Lenten Food Appeal: Over the next few weeks we are inviting parishioners to donate a non-perishable food item each weekend during Lent. After Lent, items will be donated to one of the Third World Countries. Our food item next weekend is Pasta. Please bring some with you to Mass and leave it in the box inside the Church door.
Parish Lottery: Congratulations to Peter Doran winner of this week’s Parish Lotto. The Jackpot now stands at €5,000.
Moycarkey Borris Camogie and Ladies Football Club: Are holding their annual cake sale and coffee morning on St Patrick’s day in the Múintir Na Tíre Hall in Littleton after the parade. All are welcome.
Scoil Mochaomhóg NS Two Mile Borris – Parents Association Fundraiser:
Will hold a table quiz in Bannons Pub on Friday, March 28th at 8.30pm. €40 for a team of four. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Raffle & light refreshments on the night.
Daffodil Day (Irish Cancer Society) March 28th: Is fast approaching and we are looking for donations of daffodils for Thurles town and volunteers are needed on the day. For more information please contact Bernie at 086 3848898.
Brother Stephen Buckley from the Pallotine Fathers Missions will be speaking at all Masses on the 29th & 30th of March to promote their mission work.
The Pallotines were founded by Saint Vincent Pallotti, who was born in Rome in 1795. From his childhood he offered his life to the service of the poor, and founded the Union of Catholic Apostolate. At that time the laity was not actively involved in the ministry of the Church and Saint Vincent wanted to inspire people of all walks of life to work for God’s kingdom. Saint Vincent wanted people to treat those in need “with care and with a loving concern”. He died in 1850, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire people worldwide today.
