Pope John Paul II Meeting: Transition Year Students who are interested in participating in the aforementioned award are invited to attend a meeting in the Parish Office on Monday, September 23rd at 7.15pm.
Bishop John Ryan: A special Mass will be celebrated at St. James’ Church, Two-Mile-Borris, on Tuesday, October 1st, at 2pm in memory of the late Bishop John Ryan, former Bishop of Limerick. Bishop John was a native of Two-Mile-Borris. His parents are buried in the local cemetery. The Cemetery Committee will unveil a plaque in his honour after Mass.
Bishop Ryan was ordained Bishop of Limerick on March 17th, 1828. He died on June 4th, 1864, and was buried under the old altar. He was instrumental in building St. John’s Cathedral in Limerick. Light refreshments will be served after Mass.
Parish Lottery: Congratulations to David Ryan winner of this week’s Parish Lotto. The Jackpot now stands at €5,000.
Munster Retreat: There will be a one-day retreat for young adults from 16 to 35 years in Thurles MIC, on Saturday the 5th of October from 9 to 6pm. Donation only and food supplied. Archbishop Kieran will celebrate mass at 12 noon and there will be talks during the day. All welcome.
Moycarkey Active Retirement Group: Will hold a meeting on Tuesday, September 24th at 3.30pm in Múintir Na Tire Hall. New members welcome.
