COVID-19 Support Line for Older People
ALONE has launched a national support line and additional supports for older people who have concerns or are facing difficulties relating to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Professional staff are available to answer queries and give advice and reassurance where necessary. The support line is open seven days a week, 8am – 8pm, by calling 0818 222 024.
Dear parents/guardians,
I hope you are safe and well. Following a meeting with Fr Tom Fogarty and school Principals in our parish this morning, we wish to advise you of the following decisions:
- The First Holy Communion ceremonies for Two Mile Borris and Littleton on April 26th have been postponed. A date for the ceremonies will be agreed when schools re-open following the emergency closures.
- A decision to proceed with the First Holy Communion ceremonies in Moycarkey and Gaile will be made no later than the last week of April.
- The Confirmation ceremony is scheduled for Friday May 15th. We will await further direction from the Archbishop of Cashel and Emly in relation to the proposed ceremony. At present, all Confirmation ceremonies up until April 19th have been postponed. We will notify parents/guardians of any changes to the proposed ceremony as soon as we receive notice.
Fr. Tom Fogarty, together with the school Principals in our parish, would like to invite all families in our parish to join us in celebrating a Family Mass on Thursday April 2nd next at 7pm.
The Mass will be streamed live on our parish website. Click on https://moycarkeyborris.ie/ to access our parish website.
We understand that families have been planning for the sacrament of First Holy Communion for some time now.
We hope you will understand that the decision to postpone the ceremonies has been taken in the interests of the safety of everyone in our schools and parish.
Yours faithfully,
