The Transition Year Students who are doing the Pope John Paul award would like to invite all the teenagers who are playing sports to a special Sports Mass in Littleton Church on Sunday, February 11th at 12 noon. Please feel free to wear your club jerseys.

 

Pilgrim Walk to Liathmore Abbey: – Sunday, February 4th at 4 pm in celebration of St. Brigid’s Day. Starting at the Middlepiece entrance (courtesy of the Hayes Family). The Parish Pastoral Committee extends a warm welcome to all.  Please wear suitable footwear & outdoor clothing.

 

The Bog Walk: Will take place in Two Mile Borris at 10.30am on Monday, February 5th.  This event is being organised by Thurles Lions Club with funds raised going to local charities.  Registration is from 10am at Bannon’s Lounge. Soup, Tea and Coffee will be served in Bannon’s after the walk.  There is no registration fee however donations will be gratefully accepted.

Ireland Lights up parish walk. Please support our parish Ireland Lights up walks on Mondays at 7.30pm at GAA field . Social membership for walkers is 20 euro.  All welcome

 

Community History Group – Parish Heritage report. Our history group is starting to document the heritage of our parish under the guidance of archaeologist, Joanne Hughes. We are in particular looking to record heritage that is not available in national online databases e.g. mass paths, heritage gates, holy wells, hedge schools etc. Meetings take place in the GAA meeting room on Mondays at 7.30pm with Liam Noonan, all are welcome to attend. If you have information of heritage sites and items that would help our research please contact Michael on 0863648664 or come along to one of our classes.
